WASHINGTON, DC (AP) – Số phiếu bầu được đếm cho Tổng Thống đắc cử Joe Biden nay đang tiến gần tới mức 80 triệu, trong lúc việc kiểm phiếu trong các khu vực thành trì của phía Dân Chủ vẫn còn tiếp tục.
Ông Biden đã tạo kỷ lục về số phiếu nhiều nhất cho một ứng cử viên tổng thống chiến thắng, và Tổng Thống Donald Trump cũng có kỷ lục phiếu bầu nhiều nhất cho ứng cử viên về nhì.
Với hơn 155 triệu phiếu đã kiểm và California cùng New York tiếp tục kiểm phiếu, số cử tri đi bầu năm nay có thể chiếm tới khoảng 65% số cử tri trong nước, mức độ cao nhất từ năm 1908 tới nay, theo hãng thông tấn AP và tổ chức U.S. Election Project.
Trong khi số phiếu bầu cho ông Biden ngày càng thấy cao hơn, và nay đã vượt hơn vị tổng thống đương nhiệm tới gần 6 triệu phiếu, ông Trump vẫn tiếp tục các cáo buộc không bằng chứng là có gian lận và khẳng định rằng chính ông mới là người thắng cử.
Giáo Sư Douglas Brinkley, một sử gia chuyên về các tổng thống tại Rice University, nói: “Đây chỉ là những tiếng động ồn ào. Một khi tiếng ồn giảm đi, người ta sẽ thấy rõ rằng Biden có một chiến thắng rất thuyết phục.”
Ông Biden hiện có 290 phiếu Đại Cử Tri Đoàn, trong khi ông Trump có 232 phiếu.
