VIET NAM: Breaking news of concert-goers reporting torture and ill-treatment by police [see below for English]

Thử tưởng tượng bạn với bạn của mình ngồi tại một quán cà phê trên phố và lắng nghe những bản nhạc xưa, rồi bỗng dưng công an ập vào, đánh đập bạn, lôi người ca sĩ và ban tổ chức đi rồi tra tấn họ.
Đó là điều đã xảy ra với Nguyễn Tín, Phạm Đoan Trang và Nguyễn Đại khi công an ập tới lúc họ đang thưởng thức âm nhạc buổi tối ngày hôm qua tại thành phố Hồ Chí Minh.
30 phút sau khi buổi biểu diễn bắt đầu, công an xuất hiện, khóa cửa, đánh đập những người tham dự và khám xét. Sau đó công an yêu cầu mọi người phải rời khỏi quán cà phê còn Đoan Trang, Nguyễn Tín và Nguyễn Đại thì bị đưa đi tới các đồn công an khác nhau. 3 người này sau đó nói rằng họ đã bị đánh đập dã man, riêng Đoan Trang thì bị tra tấn rồi bị quăng ra đường tại một nơi hoang vắng.
Những gì mà Tín và Đại đã làm đơn thuần chỉ là mời vài người bạn tới một buổi biểu diễn âm nhạc riêng tư tại một quán và phê để thưởng thức những ca khúc tình ca, và ngợi ca vẻ đẹp của đất nước trước năm 1975.
Ân Xá Quốc Tế phản đối hành vi vô pháp và vô nhân tính của công an. Chúng tôi yêu cầu ông Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, bí thư thành ủy thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, và là người có thẩm quyền, phải đảm bảo sự an toàn của ba nhà hoạt động kể trên và để yên cho người Việt Nam tự do bày tỏ quan điểm của họ.

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SING
Imagine sitting with your friends in your local café enjoying old love songs from days long gone, sung by a local crooner, when suddenly police burst in, beat you up, drag away the singer and event organiser and torture them.
That’s exactly what happened yesterday evening in Ho Chi Minh City to Nguyen Tin, Pham Doan Trang and Nguyen Dai – three well-known activists who were enjoying an evening of romantic golden oldies when the police arrived.
30 minutes into the low-key live performance police turned up, locked the door, beat the attendees and conducted body searches. Police then ordered people to leave the café and then detained Pham Doan Trang, Nguyen Tin and Nguyen Dai, taking them to different police stations. The three activists say that they were then beaten even more brutally with Pham Doan Trang being tortured and dumped on the side of an unfamiliar road outside the city.
All the crooner Nguyen Tin and organizer Nguyen Dai had done was invite a few friends to a private show at a coffee shop to enjoy pre-1975 apolitical songs about romance, friendship and the beauty of Viet Nam.
Amnesty International opposes this unlawful and inhumane act by the police and Ministry of Public Security. We call on Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of the Communist Party in Ho Chi Minh City who holds the power to ensure the safety of these three activists and allow the Vietnamese people to express themselves freely.
