Đối với một số người Mỹ, quyết định ân xá cho con trai Hunter của Tổng thống Joe Biden chỉ là một bằng chứng nữa cho thấy công lý ở Mỹ là tùy tiện và được ưu tiên, bất kể ai nắm quyền. Những người khác coi đó là một bước đi phòng ngừa cần thiết chống lại các mối đe dọa trả thù của chính quyền mới.
Tuy nhiên, những quan điểm đối lập đó không nắm bắt được cảm nhận của người Mỹ về các giá trị mà lệnh ân xá phản ánh.
