Ông Phil Robertson, Phó Giám đốc Châu Á của Tổ chức Theo dõi Nhân quyền Human Rights Watch (HRW), đã viết trên Twitter vào trưa hôm nay, phản đối nhà nước cộng sản Việt Nam về việc công an bắt giữ ông Bùi Tuấn Lâm, 38 tuổi, được biết đến với biệt danh “Thánh Rắc hành”.
“Các nhà chức trách Việt Nam thường quy rằng bất kỳ bình luận nào mà họ không thích là ‘tuyên truyền chống nhà nước’, khiến Việt Nam trở thành một trong những nhà nước mỏng manh nhất trong khu vực khi bị công chúng chỉ trích,” ông nói.
“Trong trường hợp này, họ bắt giam một người bán bún bò trên đường phố, người đã dám chế nhạo Bộ trưởng Bộ Công an [Tô Lâm] vì đã mua một miếng bít tết trị giá 2.000 USD trong một chuyến đi nước ngoài”.
“Chế giễu là một hình thức thể hiện hợp pháp không nên bị coi là tội phạm,” ông Robertson nhấn mạnh.
Bài học của tất cả những điều này là “Việt Nam nên bãi bỏ điều 117 của bộ luật hình sự, và ngay lập tức trả tự do cho Bùi Tuấn Lâm và những người khác bị nhốt vì chỉ đơn giản là bày tỏ quan điểm mà đảng cộng sản không thích”.
