Trường Đại Học Khoa Học Xã Hội Và Nhân Văn ở Sài Gòn vừa gửi thư cho báo Tuổi Trẻ bày tỏ thất vọng trước phản ứng quanh co của tờ báo, trong vụ nhà báo Anh Thoa bị cáo buộc xâm hại tình dục một nữ cộng tác viên, cũng là sinh viên báo chí của trường đại học.
Trong bức thư đề ngày 20 tháng 4, Tiến sĩ Huỳnh Văn Thông, trưởng khoa Báo Chí Và Truyền Thông, nói đây là một “tâm thư” của các thầy cô giáo và sinh viên gửi đến ban biên tập báo Tuổi Trẻ, để “…trao đổi thẳng thắn về vụ tai tiếng mới đây liên quan đến ông Đặng Anh Tuấn -bút danh Anh Thoa, trưởng phòng truyền hình báo Tuổi Trẻ…”. Mặc dù thông tin đã bùng lên trên mạng xã hội từ ngày 18 tháng 4, nhưng các thầy cô giáo và sinh viên ngành báo chí đã kiên nhẫn chờ đợi phát ngôn chính thức của báo Tuổi Trẻ. Tuy nhiên, các thông cáo và bản tin do báo Tuổi Trẻ đưa ra kể từ chiều ngày 19 tháng 4 đã khiến cho họ “rất thất vọng”.
Bức thư nhấn mạnh “cần nhìn thẳng vào bản chất của vấn đề là nữ sinh viên đã chịu đựng một quá trình khủng hoảng tâm lý nặng nề làm ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng đến sức khỏe và tinh thần, khiến cô ấy suy kiệt sức khỏe và phải đối diện với quyết định tiêu cực về cuộc đời mình”.
Bức thư được công bố giữa lúc có tin ban biên tập báo Tuổi Trẻ tổ chức cho nhà báo Anh Thoa đối chất với nữ sinh viên cùng bạn trai cô. Đây là sự kiện cho thấy sự thiếu hiểu biết về pháp lý của ban biên tập báo Tuổi Trẻ.
