Ban Chỉ đạo Trung ương về Phòng/Chống Tham nhũng/Tiêu cực vào ngày 14/8 công bố tại Phiên họp thứ 26 số liệu chính thức về những lãnh đạo đảng và bị kỷ luật.
Cụ thể từ đầu năm 2024 đến nay, có năm ủy viên Bộ Chính trị đảng cộng sản Việt Nam (ĐCSVN), một ủy viên Ban Bí thư và bốn ủy viên Ban Chấp hành trung ương đảng phải chịu thôi chức do vi phạm. Tổng cộng Ban Chấp hành Trung ương, Bộ Chính trị, Ban Bí thư, Ủy ban Kiểm tra Trung ương ĐCSVN đã kỷ luật 47 cán bộ thuộc diện Trung ương quản lý.
Trong thời gian từ đầu năm 2024 đến nay, các cấp thểm quyền đã cho thôi giữ chức vụ, cho nghỉ công tác, hay bố trí làm việc khác đối với 14 cán bộ thuộc diện Trung ương quản lý và 172 cán bộ diện cấp ủy địa phương quản lý.
Ngoài ra, trong sáu tháng đầu năm 2024, cấp ủy, ủy ban kiểm tra các cấp đã thi hành kỷ luật 308 tổ chức đảng, hơn 11 ngàn đảng viên (tăng thêm 34 tổ chức đảng và 1.055 đảng viên phải kỷ luật do vi phạm so với cùng kỳ năm 2023).
Các ngành Thanh tra, Kiểm toán kiến nghị xử lý hành chính 856 tập thể, 3862 cá nhân (số này tăng 72 tập thể, 950 cá nhân so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái).
