Ông Nguyễn Bắc Son và ông Trương Minh Tuấn, hai cựu Bộ trưởng Thông tin Truyền thông, vừa bị Ủy ban Kiểm tra Trung ương đề nghị Bộ Chính trị, Ban chấp hành Trung ương xem xét, khai trừ Đảng hôm 30/9.
Trước khi bị đề nghị khai trừ Đảng, từ ngày 23/2, Cơ quan Cảnh sát điều tra đã ra quyết định khởi tố bị can, tạm giam hai ông Nguyễn Bắc Son và Trương Minh Tuấn, để điều tra vụ án vi phạm quy định về quản lý và sử dụng vốn đầu tư công gây hậu quả nghiêm trọng xảy ra tại MobiFone và các đơn vị có liên quan, trong vụ án hình sự Mobifone mua 95% cổ phần của AVG.
Ông Nguyễn Bắc Son bị cáo buộc đã lợi dụng chức vụ, quyền hạn, nhận hối lộ 3 triệu USD từ Chủ tịch AVG Phạm Nhật Vũ để chỉ đạo nhân viên dưới quyền phê duyệt dự án đầu tư khi chưa có quyết định phê duyệt chủ trương đầu tư của Chính phủ trong việc MobiFone mua cổ phần của AVG.
Cựu bộ trưởng Trương Minh Tuấn, là người kế nhiệm ông Son, nhận hối lộ 200.000 USD.
Ông Nguyễn Bắc Son là Bộ trưởng Thông tin Truyền thông nhiệm kỳ 2011 – 2016. Ông Trương Minh Tuấn kế nhiệm ông Son, làm Bộ trưởng Thông tin Truyền thông từ tháng 4/2016.
